Of the Mandingo people in Canada.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF MANDINGOES IN CANADA.

BEFORE THE POLITICAL DERMACATION OF AFRICA, AFRICA WAS UNITED UNDER THE MANDINGO HEGEMONY. 

The Mandingo people originated in the Mande heartland in the present-day country of Mali West Africa. Mandingo, Mandinka or Malinke people are the first largest ethnic group in Africa and are the descendants of the inhabitants of the Mali empire that spanned Western Africa south of the SAHARA desert. 1230 AD to c 1600 AD.

King Sundiata

The most famous King in the 19 centuries in Africa King Sundiata Keita was a man. He was the founder and the leader of Mali empire. The heartland of Mali territory is located in what is now call northeastern Guinea and southern Mali. Sundiata Keita was born in 1217 and died in 1255 by drowning while try to cross the Sankarani River between Mali and Niger.

King Sundiata the biological uncle of the first richest man in the world Mansa Musa Keita. Sundiata Keita was the founder and the first ruler of the Mali Empire in the 13th century. He laid the foundation for a powerful and wealthy Africa empire and proclaimed the first charter of Human Rights which is referred to as Mandan charter.

Mansa Musa

After the death of King Sundiata Keita his nephew Mansa Musa Keita took over the administration of Mali Kingdom. 

The Mali empire collapsed in the 1460s following civil wars between the SUSU ethnic group and Mandingo tribe. After the death of Mansa Musa in 1337, the Mali empire rapidly disintegrated and ceased to exist and being replaced by independent chiefdoms. 

This conflict compelled the Mandingo people to migrate and spread all over West Africa region. Mandingo people are significant component of the African populations. The large number of Mandingo population can be found in Senegal, Mali, Gambia, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Chad, Liberia and Sierra-Leone.

King Samori Toure

In 1878 another famous Mandingo warrior rise up in the West Africa region by the name of King Samori Toure. He became a well-known leader, training and commanding a growing and discipline army. Samori fought vigorously and established his own empire called Wassoullu empire in the areas modern day called Mali, eastern Guinea-Conakry, Gambia and Northern border of Ivry Coast. 

Samori Toure was captured on 29 September 1898 by the French frontline Captain Henri Gouraud and was exile into Gabon where he stays and died in June 2, 1900.

King Sao Bosso Kamara

Another Mandingo warrior King Sao Bosso Kamara rise in 1746-1829. King Sao Bosso Kamara was the leader of the condo federation which was basically based in Northern and Western Liberia before the arrival of the settlers.

King Sao Bosso Kamara was the founding father of Liberia he died I 1829.

Canada happened to be one of the greatest countries in the world where many people want to come and seek for better lives, some Mandingoes were fortunate to migrate to Canada in search of better life. 

The influx of Mandingoes in to Canada, was a result of the civil war in Liberia, Sierra-Leone, Ivory Coast and the cross broader attacked in to Guinea. Many of the Mandingo people were resettled in Canada by the United Nations High Commission for Refugee as a result of the civil war in those countries.
